Anders is one of the first people Alphys talked to critically about magic, and especially human magic, where he was unwilling to let her get away with glossing over terms or letting her get off easy on any explanation. While she respected that he was skeptical, it did put her a little on edge- of course, him helping her take home her own cuddly kitten was a great step in the right direction, as well as him being receptive to anime. So far, they haven't had any major disagreements, but she's nervous of if one day she'll do something out of line and they'll get into a real argument.
In the meantime, though, she can't help but think of him whenever she looks at Mew Mew, and tries to check in on him and see if he's okay. She's also interested in seeing more of his magic, and trying to display more of her own- in the interest of making each other feel comfortable with their respective magic abilities.
