She and Sans have a complicated, and often blurry past, but they keep ending up back to talking to each other eventually because no one else really understands like he does. Whenever she's having a bad day, he's there with food, alcohol, a DVD, and something to keep her going- and recently she's been doing her best to do the same for him. Sans is possibly the person Alphys is most open with, and trusts to tell her when he needs something- and that she can trust to talk about when things get unsavory.
Their relationship has only gotten stronger over the last couple of months, between the both of them finding each other when they fall and strenuously bringing the other back up, sometimes literally. Their relationship in Wonderland has galvanized them into talking more, experiencing more, and being better friends.
