Another Crystal Gem, Pearl is graceful, attentive, and knowledgeable, and Alphys is absolutely smitten. Despite their few interactions, Pearl has been nothing but gracious in offering her time and services, and even seems interested in what Alphys has to offer- even if she has a hard time believing it. Still, she's hoping some of Pearl's grace will rub off on her with those dance lessons, and that Pearl won't tire of her presence when she has offered up everything interesting about herself.
For now, Alphys wishes she had gotten to know her better, and come out of her shell a bit more towards her. Perhaps, if she ever returns, Alphys will be able to get over her shyness and have the relationship she hoped for.
