[She picks up the phone a little fumbled, and her voice is still a bit muffled, like she's not holding it right.]

[Truthfully, she is not even close to busy. She's in her room, in her pajamas, watching anime. The phone was still half-under a blanket when she answered. She's a mess, Carlisle, I'm so sorry.]

[She doesn't actually know... why that is, really! Alphys has never been the most social of people. But this feels right, for some reason.]

[Same for her, which is... pretty much just as weird! She should be horribly afraid of this, of messing up any interaction. But it's Carlisle! And for some reason, that makes it... cool? Okay? Who knows.

She does head right over though; it's not super fast, coming from Delight's apartment, but she finds her way alright and waves as she gets close, hoping to catch Carlisle's eye.]
