[It seems a silly question, but he's just checking...
Besides which, he doesn't want to leave this conversation on hold for too long, not at this point. But if she wants to talk in person, then naturally he would meet her. Truth be told, he was only texting her because he'd just seen the post, and wanted to weigh in his option based on her answer to him.]
I'll be here, honey. And I'll get some pillows while I wait for you. <3
[It's a bit to the point, but she knows he's not being clipped with her. It's just a little bit of who he is; why he doesn't text in all caps to certain people anymore, why he sometimes sounds a little unsure of himself.
The rest of it is that they're friends and sometimes, although the conversation is nice, the conversations don't need to drag out.
When she arrives, he'll have brought out extra pillows and sheets from their rooms, but done little else with them. They have to do everything together, right?]
[He's become so accommodating, since she met him again. It feels... unfair, almost? Even after it all, she can't help but blame herself for it all just slightly. It feels so convenient that she got her Mettaton killed, only to meet another one who is always happy to see her, always wants to talk...
Alphys tries to shake that out of her mind. It's too much with everything else going on. But she worries. Of course, she worries.
It's not long before she makes it back to the house, hands clasped that she barely moves to open and shut the door, turning to look down from the rail and seeing Mettaton with all the pillows there. She wants to smile, but something feels too heavy.
[It's amazing how different narratives and viewpoints could cause two different people to believe they are both the only problem the other has had, or would continue to have.
That's just so far removed from anything that Mettaton wants to think about though. Anytime his thoughts wandered, he'd think too hard about everything he knew now about home, and it would color his relationships with people and hey, he'd also probably have a panic attack!
Though actually, here in Hadriel that didn't happen so often.
Probably because of Alphys. She was ever so important to him, and when he sees her begin to descend, he of course waves back with a smile. He looks relaxed, with a pillow on his lap and both elbows pressed in.]
I'm as fine as could be expected, given the circumstances. Never a dull moment here, is it?
[She gives him a little chuckle in response, trying to smile.]
More, uh, m-more like never a null moment, huh?
[Sorry Metta, she is just like this. Alphys is downstairs without delay, dropping a bag of stuff at the base of the stairs and just... flopping on top of the pile of pillows and sheets and things. Oops.
Her voice is muffled when she speaks, snout pressed into the linens.]
Wow, sweetheart. That was definitely a dad joke, you know.
[He says it lightheartedly, attempting to keep the mood somewhat elevated. However, he knows that's not why they're doing this. They weren't shooting the shit. They were talking about something far more real than he quite cared to think about.]
Why would this be on you? Tell me, Alphys. Why would you think this is even remotely your fault?
[He reaches a hand out, resting it on her back and giving her time to answer. She can answer through the entire couch if she wants, or just be quiet. It's all the same to him. He's going to support her no matter what.
[She spent some time here where it was just her and Sans, okay, she picked up a lot of bad habits. But that certainly isn't the focus now and they both know it while Alphys lays there for a few seconds, trying to figure out how to phrase this.
Finally, she tilts her head back up, so her chin is flat but her voice isn't muffled.]
Okay, so, if I t-told you I, um... may have saved one null, in secret to the Gods, and have been keeping it a secret for like, uh, a year...? In that. Uh. Hypothetical situation.
[Sure. Yeah. Okay. She's pointedly not looking at him, but very distinctly at the blank wall ahead, which is probably just more proof that this is not as hypothetical as she says.]

Of course. Are you at the Lab?
